What Is Screen Printing?
All decoration typesScreen printing pushes ink through a prepared mesh screen onto the garment. It is a strong option for clear logos, bold lettering and repeat designs produced in quantity.
The setup is spread across the order, which is why a simple one- or two-color print can become economical as quantities grow. More colors and more print locations can require more screens, preparation and production time. On a small order with many colors, those costs can outweigh the benefit. There is no single quantity where it always becomes cheapest: the artwork, ink, garment and print locations change the comparison.
Screen-printing capacity at Kenmar
Our shop has a ROQ Eco 16-head screen-printing machine and a ROQ U 8-color press, supported by two large dryers. Approximate production capacity is 700 shirts per hour per press, or around 1,400 per hour combined. Actual production speed depends on the job, setup, artwork and garment. This is a capacity estimate, not a promised turnaround time.
