A correct logo file is only part of a correct shirt order. Before approving custom apparel artwork, check the garment, decoration locations, wording and version together. Use this worksheet to collect one clear response from your school, local or organization.

Kenmar Shirts offers in-house screen printing and embroidery from our Bronx shop. This is a planning checklist, not a promise of a particular print size, color match, turnaround or approval process. Ask Kenmar to confirm the details for your order.

1. Match the artwork to the right order

Keep the garment style, garment color, quantity and size breakdown beside the artwork you are reviewing. A design approved for a light shirt may need a different treatment on a dark shirt. If your order includes T-shirts and hoodies, do not assume one approval covers both.

Garment check

  • Record the selected style and color, not just “blue shirt.”
  • Separate youth and adult sizes if both are included.
  • Identify any different garment or color groups in the order.

Artwork check

  • Give each design a clear name and version.
  • Label front, back and any sleeve decoration.
  • Send the best original artwork available. Ask what format is needed before rebuilding a file.

2. Read every word, number and symbol

Check the local number, school name, event name, year, punctuation and sponsor names against the approved wording. Review phone numbers and web addresses one character at a time. For personalized items, compare every name with the final roster rather than checking only the sample name.

If a union bug, school seal or another organization’s mark is requested, identify it explicitly and confirm that you have the right artwork and permission to use it. Do not replace an unclear mark with a similar-looking version found online.

3. Review placement and scale separately

  • Location: distinguish left chest from full front, and label each back or sleeve design.
  • Dimensions: ask for the intended decoration dimensions. A picture on a screen alone does not establish physical size.
  • Size range: ask how the decoration will work across the smallest and largest garments. Do not assume every size gets a separately scaled design.
  • Color: name the requested decoration colors and garment color. Screen appearance is not a guarantee of the finished color.
  • Method: confirm whether the location is being printed or embroidered. Ask which small details or lettering may need changes for the selected method.
Keep order details separate from visual approval.

Reviewing artwork does not by itself confirm stock, the final price or the delivery date. Check those separately with Kenmar. If a sample or exact color reference matters to your organization, ask what can be provided and whether it changes cost or timing.

4. Send one combined correction list

Choose one person to collect comments before replying. List changes by location, using the design version so an old attachment cannot be mistaken for the final one. For example: “Version 3, back: change LOCAL 102 to LOCAL 1102. Front: no change.” After a correction, check the entire updated artwork again, including the parts that were supposed to stay the same.

Copy this artwork-review brief

Fill this in for your own records or send it with your artwork. It does not submit an order.
